Lucknow Librarian Journal

Peer-reviewed quarterly journal of the Uttar Pradesh Library Association

Uttar Pradesh Library Association’s ‘Lucknow Librarian (LL)’ is a peer-reviewed and refereed scholarly journal published by the Lucknow Branch in collaboration with the Central Body of the Association. First published in 1962, the journal continued publication up to Volume 29 (1997) before being discontinued due to unavoidable circumstances. After a hiatus of twenty-seven years, the journal was revived in 2025 as a quarterly publication in both print and digital formats. The intervening period (1998–2024) has been designated as gap years corresponding to Volumes 30–56; accordingly, the revived issue has been numbered as Volume 57, Nos. 01–04 (January–December 2025). The inaugural revived issue was released on March 27, 2026, on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami.

‘Lucknow Librarian’ publishes original research articles and review papers in the field of Library and Information Science (LIS), with particular emphasis on ICT applications in libraries. Its major areas of coverage include information systems, knowledge management, collection development, information retrieval, library management, preservation, artificial intelligence, library automation, and digital libraries. The journal was previously indexed and abstracted in Library and Information Science Abstracts (LISA), Library Literature, Indian Library Science Abstracts, and Guide to Indian Periodical Literature.
